Forsyth Park Disc Golf Course

The newest addition to Forsyth Park is an 18-hole Disc Golf Course. The Forsyth Park Disc Golf Course has been designed to allow anyone from beginning players to experienced players to have a good time.  The Course provides players with 5 alternate holes for those players with a more advanced skill level and also includes an alternate tee box for hole 13 for those players unsure of playing around the pond in Forsyth Park.

Disc Golf is played just like golf but a disc is used instead of balls and clubs.  One point is counted each time the disc is thrown and when a penalty is incurred.  The goal is to play each hole in the fewest strokes possible.  The player with the lowest total strokes for the entire course wins.

OBJECT: Have fun and play the course from beginning to end with the fewest throws.  TEE OFF: The first shot of the hole must be made from the concrete pads.  LIE: The spot where the disc lands on a player's previous throw.  THROWING: The player with the least amount of strokes on the previous hole is the first to tee off on the next hole.  After teeing off, the player whose disc is farthest from the hole always throws first.  You must throw from where your disc lands.  COURTESY: Do not throw the disc if there are golfers at the next basket in which you are throwing at.  COMPLETING A HOLE: A disc that comes to rest in the basket or chains constitutes a successful completion of that hole.

The Professional Disc Golf Association's website has the official rules of play for Disc Golf on their website.

If you want to try Disc Golf for yourself but don't want to buy the equipment just yet, the Forsyth Public Library has discs available to checkout as long as you have a library card!
