Water & Sewer Billing

Billing

Water/Sewer Bills are mailed to residents and businesses by the 1st of each month.  Bills are prepared in a two part form, and we ask that you return the blue portion with your payment.  This assists us in timely processing your payment. We suggest that you retain the white portion of your bill for your records.

Customers may pay their utility bill by using one of the following four options:

  1. Direct Debit (the payment is taken from your checking on the specified due date and there is no cost to you for this service);
  2. Payments can be placed in the drop box located on the north side of Village Hall.  Envelopes are provided for this purpose;
  3. Payments can be sent by mail to Village Hall at 301 S. US Rt. 51;
  4. You may visit Village Hall and make your payment in person.

Note: If you choose to make your payment online using your bank’s service, please realize that an actual check must be issued by your bank and mailed to Village Hall.  As such your utility payment check may not arrive at Village Hall by the intended date. To avoid incurring such late fees, we strongly suggest that you opt for direct debit should you wish to pay electronically.

Payments are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on the 20th of each month.  Any payment received after that time will be considered late.  The Village will assess a 10% penalty for late payments.  In the event a customer is 40 days late in making a payment, their water will be turned off.

QUESTIONS: We often receive questions from residents concerning “higher-than-normal” bills. Occasionally, this may be due to a mis-read of your meter. However, far more often, it is indicative of a personal plumbing problem. Before contacting Village Hall, we respectfully request that you check your property for the various water leaking issues that are listed on this checklist. These matters should be taken to the attention of the plumber of your choosing.
