Beekeeper Lori Riggen kicks off Family Reading Week activities on Monday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. with an entertaining “up close” look at bees, beekeeping, and honey. Children and adults alike will enjoy seeing the bookkeeping equipment and learning how honey is harvested. The program includes a visit from Winnie the Pooh, everyone’s favorite “honey loving” book bear. Bring your camera! There will be goodie bags for each family and children will receive a free book.
Family Reading Week activities continue on Tuesday, November 15 with “Bee Creative” drop-in children’s crafts from 10:00 – 4:00. Stop by to make a craft and receive a hand painted bookmark, donated to the library by a local artist.
Wednesday will feature sweet treats with readers of all ages invited visit the library from 10:00 – 4:00 to sample delicious desserts made with honey.
It is “Bring Your Honey to the Library” day on Thursday, November 17, with activities for preschoolers and their families. A special Story Quilt story time starring Winnie the Pooh and his favorite treat is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Family goodie bags will again be available for those who did not receive one at Monday’s program.Things will be buzzing all week long.
