National Library Week

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Happy National Library Week! It’s a great time to explore what the Forsyth Public Library can offer even during these times when we are all asked to stay at home.

Virtual story times for preschoolers: Join Miss Marissa and Miss Jana each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10 am on Facebook.Tune in for new story times or watch previously posted ones from home. There are also fun activities to go along with each session.

Virtual craft classes for adults: Library staff member Madison is posting fun craft demos on Facebook that you can create with items you probably have in your home. (These may be for adults, but teens and tweens will enjoy them, too!)

Join in our virtual activities: Our Facebook page is currently featuring activities for Earth Day and National Poetry Month, along with plenty of other options for fun and learning.

Online Resources:E-books, e-audio, digital magazines, and music are available to Forsyth residents from the comfort of home. If you haven't used them before, the best way to get started is to go to our web page at and click on "Materials Search." On the right-hand side under "Resources" you will see a link to information about all the resources. Let us know if you want assistance using these materials.

Remember, the library building may be closed due to the State of Illinois Stay-at-Home mandate, but library staff are still available and ready to help. Follow the Forsyth Public Library Facebook page for information about our online resources, updates on activities, links to educational websites, and more. Facebook is also a good way to message us with questions or comments. In addition, library staff can be reached through email at or by phone at 217-877-8174. Leave us a message and let us know how we can assist you.
