Join us for these fun events at the Forsyth Public Library:

 

Monday, June 18 @ 1 p.m. – The Writer’s Life with J.D. Webb

A woman wipes a smudge off her ATM screen one night. A small child sits on a bench outside a shop in a busy mall. A cool breeze from a quiet river wafts over a woman as she begins her work. What do these seemingly innocuous events have in common? They all resulted in a mystery novel. You’re invited to come learn how everyday life experiences can become the foundation of fiction. Author J.D. Webb tells how ordinary moments can be the start of a creative, enjoyable story. Join us for this fun and lively glimpse into the life of a writer. You might even be inspired to try writing your own narrative.

Tuesday, June 19 @ 10 a. m. – Dance With Me

Instructor Michi Barber of The Dance Centre welcomes toddlers and preschoolers to this program based on the benefits of movement for brain development, where children and an adult partner will dance and learn together. The program is designed for ages 16 months to 3 years, but all children not yet in kindergarten are welcome to attend.No registration necessary.

Tuesday, June 19 @ 2-3 p.m. – Really READiculous

See how READiculously fun reading books aloud together can be! Ms. Susan and Ms. Alissa act out a READiculous number of books in this fast-paced, fun program and make children's books come alive! All ages invited; no registration required.

Wednesday, June 20 @ 9:30-10:15 a.m. - Baby TALK

Baby TALK meets every Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Forsyth Public Library for ages birth to 3. No registration is necessary.

Wednesday, June 20 @ 1-2 p.m. – Build a Birdhouse

Have you ever wanted to build a birdhouse? Staff members from Lowe’s Home Improvement will help you to construct and decorate one of your own! We will decoupage old maps onto the wood for a vintage, rustic look. Ages 10 and up. Please register in advance.

Wednesday, June 20 @ 1-2 p.m. – Zumba Party

The world’s most popular group exercise class is coming to the library! Join us for Zumba every Wednesday in June from 1-2 p.m. with instructor Jenny Ahlswede. From beginners to advanced, all adults are welcome. Please wear tennis shoes and clothes suitable for workout.

Thursday, June 21 @ 10-11 a.m. – Truck Story Time

Story Time fun for ages 2-6. No registration required.

Thursday, June 21 @ 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Vehicle Showcase: Trucks

All ages are welcome. No registration is required In the case of inclement weather, the vehicle showcase will be canceled.

Thursday, June 21 @ 12:30-1:30 p.m. OR 2:30-3:30 p.m. – Paper Airplane Launcher

Build an airplane launcher with staff from Lowe’s Home Improvement. We’ll have everything you need to construct your own launcher, as well as create your own paper airplane! Kids will be able to decorate their airplane and launcher, then practice using targets. Ages 6 and up; please register in advance.

Saturday, June 23 @ 10 a.m. – Adult Craft:Jam Jar Lanterns

Turn jars into beautiful lanterns to brighten up your garden, porch or home! Join Shelly Smith and Jennifer Lawyer as they demonstrate how to create a jam jar lantern using decoupage medium, tissue paper and craft punches. Please register in advance.
