Annual egg hunt is set for April 15

This year’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt reaches a milestone as the popular event marks 25 years of family fun. In keeping with tradition, the big hunt will be held the day before Easter on Saturday, April 15 in Forsyth Park at 10 a.m. sharp. The start time is important because veteran egg hunters will tell you that once it starts, things get going pretty quickly. In other words, it seems like all the eggs have been found and gathered into baskets in about one minute!

It is nice to arrive early to allow time for a visit with friends and neighbors, and there’s another good reason: Come early to take photos with the Easter Bunny, who always has special treats for kids who pose for a photo with him.

During the egg hunt, be on the lookout for golden tickets hidden in some eggs that denote special prizes for each of the different age groups.

Volunteers needed: On Tuesday, April 4 from 5–7 p.m., in the conference room at Village Hall, there will be a gathering to help fill the eggs. It’s an informal event where volunteers can come and go as their availability allows. Also, help is needed on Saturday morning, before the Easter Egg Hunt, with hiding eggs in the park. Putting eggs out gets started at 8 a.m., along with sectioning off the area for different age groups.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate that morning, the event will be moved to Forsyth Public Library. 
