Elder Watch
Elder Watch will meet at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 2, in the Community Center at Forsyth Public Library. Call Denny Rotz, the publicity coordinator, at 877-1405 with questions.

Forsyth/ Hickory Point Township Historical Society
The Forsyth/Hickory Point Township Historical Society will have a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. Friday, May 6, at the Forsyth McDonald’s. The group meets the first Friday of each month. Membership is not restricted to Forsyth residents, according to the group’s coordinator Rosemary Malone,
The society recently acquired historical and written documents relating to Forsyth United Methodist Church and its members. Those documents are now housed on the research shelves at Forsyth Public Library.

"The history of the Village and the church was intertwined in the 1850s,” Malone said. “It has genealogical content of importance to researchers."

Recycle unwanted paint
Forsyth residents interested in participating in the county-wide paint recycling program should take their unwanted paint to the Decatur Business Center at 2121 Imboden Court in Decatur between 9 a.m. - noon on May 7 or June 5.

The Macon County Environmental Management Department will accept interior and exterior latex, alkyd, enamel and oil-based paints; porch, floor and deck paints; oil and latex primers; and interior and exterior stains and varnishes. For more information, call 425-4505.
