YMCA hosts free b-ball camp

The Decatur Family YMCA will host a Youth Basketball Mini- Camp on Friday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the Maroa-Forsyth Grade School Gymnasium. Survey says

Only a handful of residents offered an opinion in an online survey asking how a proposed Lincoln sculpture for the Village might be funded. Supporters of the statue idea feel that a Lincoln statue would help with tourism efforts for the Village. Of those answering the survey, 75 percent felt it should be funded with private donations and 25 percent suggested a combination of private donations and funding from the Village’s hotel/motel sales tax revenue.

Storm water info on new website

The City of Decatur, Macon County and the Villages of Forsyth and Mt. Zion have launched a new stormwater website: www.maconcleanwater.com.

These four entities have separate storm sewer systems and are permitted by the Environmental Protection Agency to discharge stormwater from them. The communities do have a responsibility to prevent harmful pollutants from being washed or dumped into surface waters. This website aims to be a resource on how EPA stormwater regulations affect the municipalities, the construction industries and the general public.
