Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • At the May 4 meeting, trustees approved a resolution regarding the release of certain closed session meeting minutes and the destruction of audio tapes dating from January 2014 to February 2015. The resolution passed with all votes Yea. It was the final official vote for former trustee Bob Rasho, who then accepted a plaque of appreciation for his eight years of service.
  • One of the more popular events of Forsyth Family Fest weekend is the annual 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. Start time is 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 20. There are 12 age divisions, with awards going to the first three places in each division, and there is an overall male and female winner. Cost is $18 for the 5K Run/Walk and $2 for the 1-mile Run/Walk. You can sign up on race day or contact Village Hall at 877-9445 for more information about signing up in advance.
  • Shauna Bohlmann, part of the Forsyth Family Fest planning committee, spoke to trustees May 4 about this year’s theme: “There’s No Place Like Home.” Bohlmann suggested that when trustees ride on the village’s float they might consider wearing Wizard of Oz costumes to go along with the theme. Some were receptive to the idea so we shall see.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public. 
