Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • In the law enforcement report to trustees on April 18, Deputy Travis Wolfe of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office reported that the department’s new SUV to be used on patrol in the village should arrive within a week and be put into service immediately. Wolfe also reported that someone used a BB gun or slingshot to shoot out windows at Lebeda and Heartland Ag; both businesses are located on Koester Road.
  • The village is selling two upright pianos. One is a Cable-Nelson brand in fair condition. The other is a Kimball brand and has a beautiful, old wooden cabinet, but is not in good playing condition. Both pianos will be sold by best offer bids placed no later than April 29, 2016. If interested, contact Public Works Director Larry Coloni at 877-1653 to schedule an appointment to view the pianos. Bid forms are available at Village Hall or may be obtained at the time of viewing.
  • Free tree limb collection continues on Mondays until the last Monday in November. Limbs less than 8 feet in length and less than 10 inches in diameter are accepted. Place tree limbs at curbside by 8 a.m. on Mondays. No landscape waste, tree trunks or tree root balls will be accepted.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
