Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • Interested in finding out more about developments in Forsyth? You are invited to attend the Millikin University SCORE Breakfast meeting Tuesday, August 8 where the speaker will be Andrew Zupkoff, community and economic development coordinator for the Village. Zupkoff will give an update on development projects upcoming and already underway in Forsyth. The meeting is in the Mezzanine Room at the Decatur Club, 158 W. Prairie in Decatur; breakfast begins at 8 a.m. If you’re interested in attending, RSVP Bethany Wetherholt at bwetherholt@millikin.edu. If you can’t make the SCORE meeting, Zupkoff will make the same presentation to the Community Watch group (formerly Elderwatch) on Monday, August 7 at 1 p.m. in the Forsyth Public Library Community Room.
  • Save the date for Saturday, July 29 as the day for a Village-wide rummage sale! Any Forsyth residents who would like to put things out to sell on that day can open/close their garages at their convenience.  And, be sure to save the date for a fun night coming up in August. Movie Night in the Park will show Mary Poppins on Saturday, August 19 from 7:30-10 p.m. at Forsyth Park, in the bowl behind the pavilion. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, September 16 as a backup plan.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
