Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • Readers have likely noticed reminders in this publication regarding the upcoming water meter replacement project. Public Works Director Larry Coloni reports that the project is about ready to get started with notices going out soon to residents. 
  • Family Fest dates for 2018 have been formally selected. Mark your calendars for fun in Forsyth Park on the weekend of June 15-16.
  • Free fall leaf pickup continues daily from October 16 to December 8. Please have leaves at the curb by 8 a.m. If for some reason your leaves haven’t been picked up for two days, or if you have other questions, please call Village Hall at 877-9445.
  • Macon County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Beck gave the law enforcement report at the October 2 Board meeting. Beck said that since this will be the first time the Scream Haunted Adventure has come to the old Sears building at Hickory Point Mall deputies plan to be a presence there during weekends in October, particularly since they don’t know exactly what to expect.   • The Decatur Auto Dealers — which includes Miles Chevrolet, Crown Nissan, Crown Toyota/Scion, Bob Ridings and Bob Brady Auto Mall — held their annual fall tent sale at Hickory Point Mall from October 5-9.
  • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, October 16, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
