Items of interest from village staff and recent board meetings

  • As part of its regular rotation, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office recently rotated in a new group of officers to serve the Village. On the job protecting residents are Chris Adams, Shane Cole, Byron Ebbert, Joseph Herbert and Justin Lilly.
  • At the February 5 meeting, Trustee Jim Peck told fellow Board members that by his count there are only 22 homes for sale in the Village. Peck said that’s a pretty low inventory, considering he estimated 50 homes on the market is a more typical number.
  • Public Works Director Larry Coloni’s report to the Board on February 5 noted that he switched to a new chemical supplier that will save $1,000 per load of lime for a savings for this year of about $40,000 for this one chemical.
  • The Community Foundation of Macon County is accepting online scholarship applications for the 2018-2019 academic year at High school seniors in Macon County accepted at an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply as are current college students. Only completed electronic applications will be considered. The deadline for online applications is Thursday, March 1 and Saturday, March 31 (check individual scholarships for specific deadlines).   • The next regular meeting of the Forsyth Board of Trustees is scheduled for Monday, February 19, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall at 301 S. Route 51 in Forsyth. Board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month and are open to the public.
