Thursday, November 29, 2012

A record number of election packets has been distributed to Village residents who might choose to become candidates in the April 9 election to fill vacancies created by the expiring terms of mayor and three trustees.

At press time, Village Clerk/Assistant Village Administrator Kathy Mizer had distributed 15 packets and was in the process of preparing more.

Mizer said beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, she will be available to register candidates who wish to file their petitions. The deadline for filing for the consolidated election is 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 24, when Mizer again will be present beginning at 8 a.m. to accept the filings.

A simultaneous filing lottery will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Village Hall to determine ballot placement for the election.
