Summer Reading Program Sponsors

Bookkeepers book group meets Friday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. to discuss The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes. This novel tells a post-WWII story about Australian war brides bound for England on the HMS Victoria, a ship still stocked with arms, aircraft and a thousand naval officers.

Baby TALK continues for children ages birth through 3 and their caregivers. These informal sessions are on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:15 a.m. and include books, songs, fingerplays and opportunities for caregivers to share concerns and celebrate achievements.

Coming Soon:  Fall Storytimes
New storytime sessions begin Thursday, Sept. 17 and continue every Thursday at 10 a.m. 

What’s for Dinner?
With the start of the new school year, it’s great to have a list of simple, fast recipes on hand for hectic nights. If you’re looking for some fix-it and forget-it meals, or just something to spruce up your child’s lunch menu, look no further! The library offers a large selection of cookbooks filled with everything from gourmet meals to four-ingredient recipes for the beginning chef. Stop by and browse our selection to find a little delicious inspiration today!

Area libraries at Farm Progress
Library Director Rachel Miller attended a planning meeting on July 29 as the library prepares to work cooperatively with area libraries to promote reading and libraries at the 2015 Farm Progress Show, which comes to Decatur Sept. 1-3. Stop in at the Think Outside the Barn @ your library booth in the Varied Industries Tent. 
