Star Wars Crafts Day
Kids ages 7 and older may join us 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 for our first Star Wars Crafts Day. We will serve Chewy Wookie Cookies and Yoda Soda and have plenty of Star Wars games and crafts. Come dressed as your favorite character (optional) for our costume contest. Space is limited; registration is required.

Storytime keeps rolling
Preschool storytimes continue through the end of October. Children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers are invited to attend sessions at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays or 10 a.m. Thursdays.

Baby TALK, for ages birth through 3 with their caregivers, is held every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Book talk
The Bookkeepers Book Discussion Group will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18. This month’s book is The Lonely Polygamist by Brady Udall.

History at the library
The Historical Society Meet and Greet is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. Come talk with representatives of the historical society about the local information they can provide.

Director presents at conference
Library Director Rachel Miller recently attended the Association for Rural and Small Libraries Conference in Omaha, Neb., where she was a presenter. She attended sessions that included a demonstration of using Excel to create library floor plans, an overview of free online tech tools, suggestions for adult programming ideas and a Q&A with the director of the “best small library in America.” As a presenter, most of Rachel’s expenses were covered by the conference.
