Outdoor Adventures

Come to the Forsyth Public Library on Saturday, July 19 from 10 to 11 a.m. to hear John Schirle, author of “The Best in Tent Camping: Illinois” and Richie Wolf from the Macon County Conservation District give a presentation on some perfect spots in the state to camp, hike and enjoy nature.

Visit the library for these fun Summer Reading Programs!

  • Adult Program: Outdoor Adventures, July 19 from 10 to 11 a.m.
  • Babaloo Music and Fun, July 22 from 2 to 3 p.m.
  • Styrofoam Print Making, July 24 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
  • Page Turners Book Group, July 25 from 11 a.m. to noon
  • Summer Reading Program Final Party, July 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with K-9 demo at 12:30 p.m.
  • VolunTeen Thank You Party, July 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Don’t Forget!

The last day to turn in your Summer Reading Program logs and collect prizes is Aug. 2. Be sure to mark your calendars and stop by the library before then so you don’t miss out.


The library has a plethora of audiobooks in a variety of formats. From audio CDs to cassettes to PlayAway digital books, they are perfect for listening to when you’re driving, gardening or keeping your hands busy with summer projects. Audiobooks in all formats can be checked out like any book from the library, and you can count them toward your Summer Reading hours. Come browse through our collection of titles and start listening to your favorite books. 
