Bookkeepers 8th Anniversary
Bookkeepers Book Discussion Group celebrated an anniversary in October, marking eight consecutive years of monthly book discussions. Discussion Leader Maria Dent and current members Dave Webb and Cheryl Lehman, who have been with the group since its very first meeting, were present at the Oct. 17 celebration. Eight years and more than 31,000 pages later, the discussion group is still going strong! The group meets the third Friday of every month at 10 a.m., and new members are always welcome to join.

Did you know?
Now you can find online lists of all of Forsyth Public Library’s newly acquired items. On the right-hand side of the library’s webpage, the links in the section titled “New This Month” will take you to lists of all the library’s most recent additions. Because the lists are created with our online catalog, you can request items directly off of the list. Items listed online include AV materials (including audiobooks, DVDs and playaways) and fiction and nonfiction books for children and adults. The links will be updated monthly as more new items come in. Head to our webpage and check it out.

Ross Dress for Less
The new Ross Dress for Less at Hickory Point Mall gave the Forsyth community a gift at its Oct. 11 grand opening. On behalf of Forsyth Public Library, Rachel Miller, library director, accepted a donation of $1,000 from the company. Donations were also given to Decatur Public Library and the Boys and Girls Club of Decatur.

Food For Thought
The Food for Thought Book Discussion Group will meet Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. to discuss The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman — a book that USA Today proclaims as being “at once elegantly rendered and emotionally manipulative,” following characters “through a string of (such) tormenting and sometimes predictable twists, you may suspect that the author practices heart-wrenching as a kind of craft.” The group will be enjoying a baked potato bar during the meeting. New participants are welcome to attend.

Baby TALK and Storytimes
Baby TALK and Storytimes continue in November. On Wednesdays from 9:30-10:15 a.m., children ages birth through 3 are welcome to join us with their caregivers for books, songs and fingerplays. On Thursdays from 10-10:45 a.m., children ages 3-5 are welcome to join us for stories, seasonally themed crafts and other activities. No registration is necessary.
