Forsyth Public Library will offer drop-in ornament making at these times: Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 4 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.; and again on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mark your calendars now for this fun seasonal craft.

Family Reading Night
Spin to win prizes, test your knowledge of library trivia and listen to our VolunTeens read books at the library’s Family Reading Night coming up Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Come to the community room to learn about the benefits for all ages that reading together as a family provides. No registration is necessary.

The Bookkeepers Book Group will meet on Friday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. The group will discuss The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd, a novel described by Booklist Magazine as “a moving portrait of two women inextricably linked by the horrors of slavery.” New members are always encouraged to join the group.

Tech Club
On Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 10-11:30 a.m., Tech Club will meet in the library. Bring your iPad or iPhone and any questions you might have. New members are welcome to join.

Tablets, E-Readers & Choices
Do you have questions about the variety of tablets and e-readers available? Are you unsure what would best fit your needs and your budget? Come to the library on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 2-3 p.m. to “test drive” the most popular devices and learn about their features. A representative from Staples will be on hand to answer technical questions. Library staff will be available to talk about the many electronic resources provided through the library.

Baby TALK and Storytimes
Baby TALK and Storytimes continue in November. On Wednesdays from 9:30-10:15 a.m., children ages birth through 3 are welcome to join us with their caregivers for books, songs and fingerplays. On Thursdays from 10-10:45 a.m., children ages 3-5 are welcome to join us for stories, seasonally themed crafts and other activities. No registration is necessary.

Bids for new carpet
Bid opening for the library’s carpet-replacement project was held Oct. 29. Three bids were received. Awarding of the bids will be on the agenda for the Nov. 17 Village Board meeting, which will allow time to gather prices for painting and shelf moving so the remaining project costs can be more accurately evaluated. 
