Help Decorate Our Tree
The Forsyth Public Library’s Christmas tree is going to need some sprucing up. Don’t leave it pining for decorations — come in and make some! Drop in and create a cookie-cutter ornament and a book-page ornament for our tree. Then, don’t forget to stop back in just before Christmas to take your creations home. Craft times are Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 4 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All ages are welcome, but younger children may need some assistance with cutting paper.

Food for Thought
The Food for Thought book discussion group will meet on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. Members will bring in for discussion a favorite book that they have read during the last year. They will also share favorite Christmas cookies or other baked goods. Hot chocolate will be served. New members are welcome.

New magazines at the library
Looking for something new to read? The library has acquired several new magazine subscriptions, including the following publications, which cover a wide range of interesting topics:

  • Allrecipes: describes itself as the print version of the world’s largest food website, filled with favorite recipes from America’s most experienced home cooks and “all the best tried-and-true recipes, tips and how-to’s.”
  • Dr Oz The Good Life: The popular TV doc, first introduced to most of us by Oprah, launched his magazine about a year ago. Oz says his mission in print carries a similar message as his television show, one of “health, wellness and good living.” All geared to help readers live a healthy life.
  • Inc.: This business-centric publication, which has been around for more than 30 years now, describes itself as the premier print publication for entrepreneurs and business owners.
  • Wired: Amazon says: “Wired uncovers the most surprising and resonant stories about the people, companies, technologies and ideas that are transforming our lives.”

The library also now carries Reader’s Digest in large print. Stop in for a cup of coffee and enjoy our new selection of titles.
