The Bookkeepers Book Discussion Group will meet Friday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. The group will discuss A Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg, which Library Journal called “just the thing this holiday season for anyone who loves warm, cuddly, feel-good books.” New members are always welcome to attend.

Add a Little Music to the Holidays
Looking to add a bit more music to your celebrations this year? Searching for that one perfect holiday song? Freegal, the free music service for patrons of Forsyth Public Library, has millions of songs, including a huge assortment of holiday music, available to download. You can download up to five songs per week with your library card. For more information or assistance, call or stop by the library today.

Movies at the Library
The library will show The Muppet Christmas Carol (Rated G, 89 minutes) on Tuesday, Dec. 23 from 1-2:30 p.m. Then, on Friday, Jan. 2 from 1-2:30 p.m., the library will show The Ugly Dachshund (Rated G, 93 minutes). Join us for these family-friendly flicks. All ages are welcome, but children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is necessary.

Family LEGO
On Saturday, Dec. 20 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Family LEGO will be back at the library. Families with builders of all ages are invited to come and build with the library’s LEGO block collection. No registration is necessary. Drop in and make something great!

Bonbon Bingo
The library will host Bonbon bingo on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 1-2 p.m. Enjoy several fun rounds of bingo and win tasty candy prizes. All ages are welcome, but children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is necessary.

Baby TALK and Storytime Schedule
Baby TALK continues during the month of December, but will not meet on Dec. 24 or 31, due to the holidays. For ages birth through 3, children and caregivers meet with trained Baby TALK instructors to enjoy books, songs, and fingerplays while sharing parenting concerns and celebrating achievements. Storytime, a program for children ages 3 to 5, returns to the library starting Jan. 8. Watch for more details in future editions.

Carpet and paint projects
At the Nov. 17 board meeting, two contractors — Good’s Floor Store, Inc. and Quality Concrete and More — were awarded contracts for carpet and painting projects at the library. Library Director Rachel Miller’s Dec. 1 report to the board noted that once contracts are completed and returned, a work schedule will be developed. 
