Online TERC for everyone
Planning for college, a new career or taking a citizenship test? You will find helpful materials and information in the online resource Testing & Education Reference Center, available through Forsyth Public Library’s website. One click and you’ll have instant access to career assessment questionnaires, information about colleges, scholarship information, AP practice tests and courses, citizenship resources, educational articles like “Last-Minute Study Tips” and “How to Beat Test Stress” and more! With such a wide variety of resources available, there’s something in TERC for everyone. There’s also a large selection of books on test prep and education available in the library, so stop by and check one out today.

Tuesday Hot Tracks
The library’s great Tuesday programming continues June 30 from 2-3 p.m. with Nitro Joe’s exciting show “It’s a Gas!” The following week, on July 7 from 2-3 p.m., Steve and his friend TV will perform songs about reading, friendship, exercise and more. On July 14 from 2-3 p.m., see juggling feats of skill and daring from performers Jay and Leslie. No registration is necessary to attend Tuesday programs.

Tween and Teen Movie
Children ages 10 and older are invited to come to the library for popcorn and a movie on Wednesday, July 1 from 1-2 p.m. The library will show August Rush (PG). No registration is necessary.

Lip Sync Battle
Adult judges are needed for the Lip Sync Battle on Wednesday, July 15 at 1 p.m. Adult judges must be 18 or older and must not be a participant in the Lip Sync Battle. To volunteer, contact Sandi Hayes at or stop by the library in person. Spots are still open for Lip Sync Battle contestants, so practice your moves and don’t be shy! You can perform in a group or go solo. Sign-ups and song entries are open until July 9.

On Thursday, July 2 from 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m., the library welcomes young chefs to come make, bake and decorate their own cookies. Participants must be 6 and older. Registration is required.

Popcorn and a Movie
On Wednesday, July 8, don’t forget to stop by the library from 1-2:30 p.m. for popcorn and a movie. The library will show Tarzan (G). No registration is necessary. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Painting with Scissors
On Thursday, July 9 from 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m., Jennifer Stout will assist young artists as they create amazing works of art with nothing but paper, scissors and glue. Participants must be 6 and older. Registration is required.

Bookkeepers book group meets at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17 to discuss Even Steven by John Gilstrap. This thriller features a childless couple who foil a kidnapping and decide to keep the child for their own, and the missing child’s mother, trapped by circumstances and fighting to get her son back.

Pajama Sing-Along
Come to the library on Saturday, July 11 from 10-11:30 a.m. in your PJs for donuts and juice before settling in to sing along with Aladdin (G). Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Cruisin’ with Bob Windt
On Thursday, July 16 from 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m., Bob Windt, aeronautical engineer, will demonstrate how upcycled items can be used to make cars. Build one of your very own and watch it go! Participants must be 6 and older. Registration is required.

Food for Thought
Food for Thought book group meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9 to discuss All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. This Pulitzer Prize-winning novel intertwines the lives of a blind French girl and a German boy with a fascination for radios as both try to survive the dangers of World War II.

Independence Day
Forsyth Public Library will be closed July 3 and 4 in observance of Independence Day. Items may be returned to the drop box in front of the library. The library will reopen Monday, July 6. 
