Water Wars
Looking for a fun way to beat the heat? Stop by Forsyth Public Library on Tuesday, July 21 from 2-3 p.m. for Water Wars. You will get soaked, so remember to bring a towel. The program will be canceled in case of inclement weather. All ages are invited to join the fun. No registration is required.

Teen and Tween Water Wars
Teens and Tweens (ages 10 and up) are invited to come to the library with extra towels to experience Water Wars on Wednesday, July 22 from 1-2 p.m. Prepare to soak or be soaked! In case of inclement weather, the program will be canceled. No registration is required.

Rhythms with Watercolor
On Thursday, July 23, from 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m., instructor Jennifer Stout will demonstrate how to create unique works of art by following the beat of your own drum. Registration is required.

Final Party
The library is throwing an end-of-summer party to wrap up another fun-filled summer reading program. On Tuesday, July 28 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., everyone is invited to stop by the library to enjoy food and prizes, as well as a special guest appearance by Sally the Clown.

Kid Talk & Baby Talk
On Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:15 a.m. children ages 4-8 are invited to meet in the library’s conference room for reading fun. Kid Talk is designed for the siblings of Baby Talk participants, but all are welcome to join. Baby Talk is a program for children ages birth through 3, and features books, songs and fingerplays led by trained Baby Talk instructors. No registration is necessary for either program.

Last Call for Prizes
The last day to turn in your summer reading logs and get prizes is Saturday, Aug. 1. Come in and get the rockin’ reading prizes you’ve earned by completing all those reading hours. Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Family LEGO
On Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10-11 a.m., Family LEGO returns to the library! Families with builders of all ages are invited to come and build with the library’s LEGO block collection. No registration is necessary. Drop by and build something great!

Library staff member Mary McCormick has moved to the Boston area to pursue a full-time editing position. Her last day at the library was July 6. We wish her the best of luck.

Library Assistant Position
The Village of Forsyth (3,490) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time Library Assistant I. Job duties include, but are not limited to, shelving materials, assisting patrons and clerical tasks. This position requires skill in the following areas:  interpersonal relations, service to patrons and oral communication. Also required: the ability to use computers and learn computerized circulation system. Weekend and evening hours are required. $9 DOQ/E. Send resume and three references to Rachel Miller, Forsyth Public Library, 268 S. Elwood, Forsyth, IL 62535 no later than July 31, 2015. 
