Library Card Month
There are many good reasons to sign up for a library card at Forsyth Public Library. Books, movies and digital materials are just a few of the things available to you with your library card. National Library Card Sign-up Month in September provides an additional reason to get your first Forsyth Public Library card. Anyone who signs up this month to get a Forsyth Public Library card for the first time is entered into a drawing for a $10 Staples gift card. Visit the library this month and sign up!

Story Time
New sessions of Story Time return starting Sept. 17. From 10-10:45 a.m. every Thursday morning, the library welcomes children age 3-5 and their caregivers for Story Time. These fun sessions feature stories and crafts based on the theme of the day and continue through mid-December. No registration is necessary.

Baby TALK sessions continue at the library. For families with children from birth to age 3, these informal parent/child sessions are every Wednesday from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Trained Baby TALK instructors lead the sessions and provide opportunities for sharing parenting concerns and celebrating achievements while enjoying books, songs and fingerplays. No registration is necessary.

The Bookkeepers book group will meet on Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. to discuss The Lemon Jelly Cake by Madeline Babcock Smith. With a central Illinois setting, this novel showcases the delights of growing up in a small town in the early 1900s.

Testing and Education Database
From ACT to MCAT, online practice tests and other resources are available at Testing and Education Reference Center. Looking for help with Test of English as a Foreign Language or citizenship tests? TERC can help with that, too. This online resource is available in the Forsyth Public Library or from home with your Forsyth Public Library card. Access this resource from the library’s web page (, click “materials search” and look for the TERC icon. Your library card barcode number is your password for access outside the library. Library staff will be providing hands-on demonstrations of the TERC on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and also on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 5-7 p.m. No registration is required.

WSOY Food Drive
Forsyth Public Library will again be a drop-off site for the WSOY Food Drive. Start collecting those canned goods and stay tuned for more details.

Fall Drop-in Craft
Families are invited for a fall drop-in craft from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. Mark your calendars!

Storybook Pumpkins
Pick out your pumpkin and get ready to transform it into a book character for display at the Forsyth Public Library. What will your storybook character look like in pumpkin form? No carving, please. Rules and more information will be available soon. 
