1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Children from birth to age 5 are encouraged to sign up for Forsyth Public Library’s newest program, “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.” When you sign up, you will receive a book log to keep track of your first 100 books and a bookmark. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is designed to develop a lifelong love of reading. You can achieve 1,000 books by reading just one book each day for five years or three books per day for three years. Sign up at the library today and start adding titles to your list! Does your child love one particular book and demand to hear it again and again? Each reading counts in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. When you get to 500 books, you will receive a book bag. When you reach 1,000 books your child will have their name placed on a bookplate inside one of the library’s juvenile titles! The library will also include participants’ names in the Village Vision newsletter as goals are reached.
