Valentines will be delivered to the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville shortly before Valentine’s Day. All craft supplies will be provided by the library, so come in and make as many as you like. All ages are encouraged to help spread the love with these handmade cards.

Story Time Resumes
Story Time will resume Thursday, Feb. 4 with Miss Sandi and Miss Lisa. Children ages 3-5 and their parents are invited to join us for fun stories, games and activities. Story Time is held each Thursday at 10 a.m. The theme for Feb. 4 will be Snow, and the theme for Feb. 11 will be Valentine’s Day. Come have some winter fun with us!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Parents and caregivers of children ages birth to 5 are invited to sign up for our newest reading program, “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.” Sign up your child and receive a book log to help keep track of his or her progress. Each time you read a book (any book — even that title you have read over and over and over) to your child, color in a book on your log. When 100 books are read, come back to the library to complete your certificate and receive your next book log. When you finish 500 books, you will receive a book bag. Upon completion of 1,000 books, your child will have his or her name placed on a bookplate inside one of the library’s juvenile titles. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten strengthens children’s language skills and develops a lifelong love of learning. Just one book per day adds up to 365 books in one year, 730 books in two years and 1,095 in three years — get started today!
