Tech Club
Tech Club meets on Tuesday, April 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. in Forsyth Public Library’s conference room. We will continue our topic of using iPads with sites such as Shutterfly to create photo albums. Group leader Lisa Marz will share a quick review of how to use the Shutterfly app, and then attendees will have time to make a practice photo book. Please prepare for the session by downloading Shutterfly – Photo Story onto your iPad or device, registering for a free Shutterfly account and making sure you have some pictures on your iPad. As always, iPad questions and answers will follow. No registration is necessary and all are welcome.

Senior Outreach Event
On Wednesday, April 20, representatives from the Macon County Senior Center, Macon County Health Department and CHELP will be on hand at the library from 1-3 p.m. to showcase their services for senior citizens. From special discounts to Medicare savings, be sure to join us to learn more about how these organizations can help you!

Adults! Have fun making a personalized mug using Sharpie oil-based markers at the library on Saturday, April 23 from 1-2 p.m. Advance registration is required. Please call the library at 877-8174 to reserve your spot. 

Investing Principles
Join us for a free workshop on basic investing principles presented by advisers Steve and Kyle Wiese of LPL Financial on Tuesday, April 26 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the library. This workshop will cover investing concepts and common investment techniques that will help you on your path to financial security. No registration is necessary!

Investment Tools at Your Library
Your Forsyth library card grants you access to an impressive collection of investing resources – for free! Use your library card from home or within the library to access the Morningstar Investment Research Center database. Morningstar features data and analysis on over 15,000 international and domestic stocks, 25,000 mutual funds and more than 1,500 exchange-traded funds. You’ll also find a variety of investment tools and calculators to help analyze the performance of your investments. Visit, and click on “Materials Search,” and then scroll down the page until you find it near the bottom. The library also offers publications from Value Line, Standard & Poor’s and Independent Adviser for Vanguard Investors for use in the library, along with a variety of financial books and magazines available for checkout.

Story Time
We will celebrate Earth Day at our next Story Time session on Thursday, April 21. Come make a brown paper bag hat! At our session on Thursday, April 28 we will read books about wet weather and will make a rain stick craft to take home. Story Time starts at 10 a.m. and is designed for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. Siblings are welcome. Come in, and have fun with Miss Sandi and Miss Lisa!

The library is the place to be on Wednesday mornings for families with children from birth to age 3. Drop in for Baby TALK sessions from 9:30-10:15 a.m. each Wednesday. No registration is necessary.

Mother’s Day Drop-In Craft
Make a sweet Mother’s Day craft at this drop-in program on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Children will decorate a colorful container and fill it with candy for that special mom in their life. No registration required.

Learn to Play Disc Golf
Have you tried Forsyth’s disc golf course yet? Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. Wilbur Wallis, designer of Forsyth’s disc golf course, will be at the library to discuss and demonstrate the basics of this fun sport, including how to properly throw a disc. Join Mr. Wallis after the library session at the disc golf course for hands-on instruction or for a friendly round of disc golf.
