Summer Reading Registration Begins Next Week!
Children may begin registering for Forsyth Public Library’s summer reading program, Read for the Win! on Tuesday, May 31. However, the fun really rolls in on Saturday, June 4 during our LEGO Build & Race Day. The library will host the Children’s Museum of Illinois’ Ready, Set, LEGO ramp from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. that day. Come learn about the laws of physics by trying your hand at building a LEGO race car and sending it down an awesome ramp! Don’t miss out! When you register for the summer reading program, you will receive a log to keep track of your reading. There are goals and prizes for all ages. Sign up the whole family and Read for the Win! Don’t forget that you may also register for park programs at the summer reading kickoff on June 4.

Digital Pep Rally & More
Hip, hip, hooray! Your library card gives you access to a winning team of digital resources that can be accessed on your computer or mobile device! During the Saturday, June 4 summer program registration day, come see a demonstration of Zinio, a digital magazine platform available to you with your library card!

Parents: Summer Reading Programs Prevent Summer Learning Loss
Young people experience learning losses when they don’t engage in educational activities during the summer. Research shows that students who do not exercise their brains throughout the summer typically score lower on standardized tests given at the end of summer than they do on the same tests at the beginning of the summer. Keep kids’ school skills sharp while having fun by joining the library’s 2016 summer reading program, Read for the Win!

Teens! We Need YOU This Summer
The Youth Services staff encourages teens entering grade 7 and up to be part of the library’s Read for the Win! team this summer by becoming a VolunTeen. Have fun and receive community service credit by helping us with programs, projects and more! If you have questions about becoming a VolunTeen, please give Sandi Hayes a call at 877-8174. Pick up an application at the library today!

Tech Club
Tech Club takes a step back from its usual iPad focus to learn about more general computer information on Tuesday, May 17 from 10-11:30 a.m. Blake Rowland from Staples Tech Center in Forsyth will guide the group in a discussion of what’s new in the computer world. No registration is necessary.

Bookkeepers Book Club
The Bookkeepers will meet to discuss New York Times No. 1 bestseller Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. People magazine called Big Little Lies: “Irresistible … Moriarty’s sly humor and razor-sharp insights will keep you turning pages.” Call the library at 877-8174 to get a copy.

Parents and caregivers and their young children (ages 0-3) are encouraged to attend Baby TALK times at the library. Baby TALK provides children and parents with social interaction and positive parenting strategies. Sessions include simple rhymes, stories, dancing and play time. Baby TALK meets every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Painted Lady Butterflies
