Winner’s Circle Tuesday
The summer fun rolls on at Forsyth Public Library’s terrific all ages programs! Don’t miss musical duo Jan and George of Wildheart as they perform their interactive Nature’s Olympics show on Tuesday, July 5 from 2-3 p.m. Author Eddie Price will bring his friend Little Miss Grubby Toes on Tuesday, July 12 from 2-3 p.m.

Wednesday Tweens and Teens
Transform a cookie sheet into a magnetic chalkboard for your room using scrapbook paper and washi tape on Wednesday, July 6 from 1-2 p.m. You’ll also get to make a few marble magnets to embellish your creation. On Wednesday, July 13 from 1-2 p.m., learn how to build a marshmallow shooter using PVC pipe, then test your aim with some outdoor target practice. These programs are for ages 10 and up. Advance registration required. Call the library to sign up.

Games for All Ages
Imagine living in the 1800s, before electricity — what would you play with? At Playtimes Past, an interactive program presented by the Macon County Conservation District, see how kids of the past had fun. Be sure to join us on Thursday, July 7 from 1-2 p.m. to find out more! No registration required. Adults welcome to attend. The fun continues with board games on Thursday, July 14 from 1-2 p.m. Come play checkers, Mexican Train, Jenga and more! No registration required.

The Greatest Female Athlete in History: Babe Didrikson
It is 1955 and Babe is reflecting on her life — remembering her rise from track and field Olympic star to world-class golf champion. Leslie Goddard, Ph.D. brings the legendary Babe Didrikson to life during this family-friendly program on Saturday, July 9 from 10-11 a.m.  

Writing Workshop with Author Eddie Price
Do you dream of publishing your own book? Eddie Price, author of Widder’s Landing, will share his experiences from writing to publishing to marketing and beyond at this practical, down-to-earth program on Tuesday, July 12 from 6-7 p.m. 

Food For Thought
The Food For Thought book group meets Thursday, July 14 at 6 p.m. to discuss My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman. Kirkus Reviews calls this “a touching, sometimes funny, often wise portrait of grief.” No registration necessary. New members are always welcome!

First Mothers: The Women Who Shaped the Presidents by Bonnie Angelo is the July selection for the Bookkeepers book group. The group meets Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m. to discuss the book that describes as “an in-depth look at the special mother-son relationships that nurtured and helped propel the last 12 American presidents to the pinnacle of power.” Come join in the lively discussion!

Beginning July 1 and continuing while supplies last, anyone checking out a PlayAway from the library will receive a specialized case for the device, with room for headphones, library card and more! Come browse through our collection of titles and start listening to books in a whole new way!
