Tech Club Returns
Getting Started with Facebook will be the theme for the September meeting of Tech Club. Jenny Garver of the Macon County Conservation District will help us learn more about the many features of Facebook. Tech Club will meet Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Forsyth Public Library. No registration necesssary.

Tech Play
Have you ever created a Squishy Circuit? Played with a Code-a-Pillar? Asked an Ozobot to dance? If you haven't, be sure to drop in to the library on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. as we have fun exploring a variety of new educational and fun toys at our very first Tech Play session. There will be six different tech toys for you to explore. Mark your calendar!

Social Security Savvy
Join Kyle Roy of AIG Insurance and Steve Wiese of LPL Financial on Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the library for Social Security Savvy. Social Security plays an important role in retirement income. Join us to learn more about the ins and outs of Social Security and preparing for retirement. Together, we’ll explore Social Security’s long-term outlook and the benefit rules you need to know.

Baby Talk
Baby TALK Time is held every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the library. These informal parent/child sessions are for families with children birth to age 3. Baby TALK sessions are led by trained teachers and provide opportunities to share parenting concerns and celebrate achievements while enjoying books, songs and fingerplays.

Story Time
Get ready for a fun Friday morning at Story Time with Miss Sandi and Miss Lisa! Held every Friday at 10 a.m., Story Time is designed for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. Join us Sept. 16 and make a fuzzy bookworm craft to celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Celebrate Mo Willems’ unforgettable duo Elephant & Piggie at the September 23 session. On Sept. 30 we will explore the curious habits of squirrels and make a colorful acorn craft. Mark your calendar and don’t forget to come read, play and sing with us! Siblings welcome.

Bookkeepers Book Club
The September selection for the Bookkeepers Book Group is the best-selling novel-turned-movie Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Be sure to join the group on Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. to discuss this unlikely love story.

Sew Much Fun
The library’s kids’ hand-sewing club, Sew Much Fun, will meet Thursday, Oct. 6 from 4-5 p.m. Sew Much Fun is open to kids in grade three and up. No sewing experience is necessary. Come learn and make something fun! Please register so we have enough materials for everyone!

Edible Spider Drop-In Craft
Drop in on Saturday, Oct. 1 and make a sweet and salty edible spider any time from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

WSOY Food Drive
The library is a drop-off site for the 15th annual WSOY Food Drive. Bring in your non-perishable, unexpired items any time beginning Monday, Oct. 3. Items collected will be taken to the food drive on Friday, Oct. 7. The 2016 goal is 1.3 million pounds, and all items received will be donated to local food pantries.

National Library Card Sign-Up Month
Your library card is the smartest card in your wallet — and in September, it may also be the luckiest! Hidden in adult, teen and children’s books around the library are 100 Golden Tickets. If you check out one of the lucky books and find a golden ticket, bring it to the library for a prize! Tickets are only available during September, which is National Library Card Sign-Up month, so hurry on in!
