Story Time
Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers is offered every Friday at 10 a.m. at Forsyth Public Library. Story Time includes books, songs, and a craft. Upcoming themes are Mittens and Hats on February 17, Dr. Seuss on February 24, and The Three Bears on March 3. No registration is necessary, and siblings are welcome.

Baby TALK Time is held every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the library. These informal parent/child sessions are for families with children birth to age 3. Baby TALK sessions are led by trained teachers and provide opportunities to share parenting concerns and celebrate achievements while enjoying books, songs and fingerplays.

1000 Books
Ask about our free program that encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she starts kindergarten. Just read a book to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your child starts kindergarten. Just one book a night will add up to 1,095 books in three years. The program is self-paced and will take anywhere from a few months to a few years depending on how often you read together. Once you and your child have read 500 books, you will receive a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten book bag. When you have finished the 1,000 books, you may choose a book from the library and have a bookplate with your child’s name placed in that book. The library has had over 130 children sign up in the past year with nine children completing the program so far.
