The Bookkeepers book discussion group will meet Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m. to discuss The Shack by William P. Young. This 2007 novel is currently on multiple bestseller lists and was recently made into a movie. No registration necessary. New members are always welcome!

Story Times
We’re wrapping up our spring story times with an Earth Day theme on Friday, April 21 and Bugs and Butterflies theme on Friday, April 28, both at 10 a.m. There will be no story time in May, but we return in June and July. Story time books, activities and crafts are geared toward children ages 3 to 5 with their caregivers. Siblings are always welcome.

Join other parents and caregivers of children age 3 and younger at weekly Baby TALK sessions. Age-appropriate books, songs, rhymes and dances are presented by trained Baby TALK instructors at each meeting. Each session allows time for caregivers to celebrate children’s accomplishments and ask questions about parenting challenges. Baby TALK meets each Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. the library, and no registration is required.

Travel Plans?
Summer is not far away, and it’s not too early to begin making travel plans! Whether you’re exploring Illinois, across the country or overseas, we recently added quite a few new, up-to-date travel guides at the library. And, if a bit of a foreign language might help, we have new guides in French, Spanish, German and Italian. You can see all our newest travel guides in the library catalog at, or stop in to browse the shelves.

Jazz Appreciation Month with Freegal
April is Jazz Appreciation Month, and with your Forsyth library card you can download free music of many of the great legends of jazz. Whether your taste is Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis or any number of other artists, the library’s Freegal service allows you to download up to five tracks per week. You can find the link on our website,, under “materials search.”

Teens! Are you looking for volunteer hours? Would you like to work with kids and families in our Summer Reading Program? If you are going into grades 7-12, you can apply to become a Forsyth Public Library VolunTeen! Application forms are available at the library and at the Maroa Forsyth Middle and High School offices.
