Back to School, Back in the Day
It’s September, and that means “back to school,” as it has for generations of families in the Forsyth area. Thanks to the Forsyth/Hickory Point Township Historical Society, Forsyth Public Library has on display this month photos of what back to school looked like in decades past. Stop in to take a look. You may recognize someone — maybe even yourself!

Roald Dahl Day
Drop in Saturday, September 16 for a whizzpopping good time! Anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., come celebrate children’s author Roald Dahl. We’ll make scrumdiddlyumptious, lickable wallpaper from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and an origami Fantastic Mr. Fox! Free and open to all. No registration necessary.

Outsmart the Scammers
Incidents of fraud are on the rise and scammers’ tactics are becoming more complex. On Tuesday, September 19 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Jessica Ashmore, financial advisor with Edward Jones, will discuss how to Outsmart the Scammers. She’ll highlight red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter, resources you can turn to in the event you are targeted and steps you can take now to help protect yourself and your loved ones. No registration necessary.

Dance with Me
Come Brain Dance with Michi Barber from The Dance Centre! Children and an adult partner will dance and learn together, exploring fun movement patterns that provide a body and brain workout. Activities are designed for ages 16 months through 3, but all children not yet in kindergarten are welcome to attend. Sessions are offered September 19, October 17 and November 21 at 10 a.m. No registration is necessary.

Adult Watercolor
Learn how to create with watercolor! Instructor Jennifer Stout will lead participants step-by-step in creating a beautiful watercolor landscape in an adult class on Saturday, September 23 from 10-11:30 a.m. Advance registration is required.

Families with children ages birth to 3 are encouraged to attend informal Baby TALK sessions each Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Each week provides opportunities for sharing parenting concerns and celebrating achievements while enjoying books, songs and fingerplays. No registration is necessary.

Story Time
Join us on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. for preschool story time! On September 22 it’s Extraordinary Elephants! Come enjoy stories about these enormous creatures and create an elephant craft with us. Come back September 29 to learn All About Apples and paint with real apple stamps! Ages 2-5 and siblings are welcome, with no registration required.
