It’s Time to Use your Library Card

Your library card is always a valuable tool but has added value in September. In celebration of National Library Card Sign-up Month, people using their library cards have a chance each day to win a Casey’s coupon and then enter in a drawing for even bigger prizes. No library card? Don’t wait any longer. It’s time to visit the library!

Story Time

Come join the story time fun for ages 2-5. On September 21, explore the ocean at our Under the Sea story time. You won’t want to miss our Camping Adventures on September 28. Story times are on Friday mornings at 10 a.m. Siblings are welcome, and no registration is necessary.

Baby Talk

Socialize with other parents and caregivers of children ages birth-3 on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. These informal parent/child sessions are led by trained Baby TALK instructors and provide opportunities to share parenting concerns and celebrate achievements while enjoying books, songs and fingerplays. Baby TALK is free, and no registration is required.

Library Card Lanyards

September is library card sign-up month. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 to get your very own library card and to create a library card holder using a book pocket, fun felt and a lanyard. It’s a fun and easy way to keep your library card with you wherever you go.

Dance with Me

Dance and learn with your little one at the library. Join Michi Barber from the Dance Centre at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18 as she encourages development through music and dance. Dance with Me is geared for ages 16 months through 3, but all children not yet in kindergarten are welcome. Sessions are held the third Tuesday of each month. No registration is required.

Adult Table Games

Join us for an afternoon of fun, games, and light refreshments on Monday, September 17 at 1 p.m. Jenga, Battleship, checkers, card games and more will be available to enjoy. Have a favorite game? Bring it along. All adults are welcome.

Bookkeepers Book Club

The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows is the title for the Friday, September 21 meeting of Bookkeepers book discussion group. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch describes this novel as “a big, juicy family saga with warm humor and tragic twists …” Bookkeepers Book Club meets on the third Friday of the month at 10 a.m. All readers are welcome to attend.

WSOY Food Drive

The library is a drop-off site for the 17th annual WSOY Food Drive. Bring in your nonperishable, unexpired items any time beginning Monday, October 1. Please drop off items by Thursday, October 4 to ensure delivery to the food drive site. The 2018 goal is 1.5 million pounds, and all items received will be donated to local food pantries.
