Movie Matinee day at the library
The movie “Brave” is the featured Movie Matinee on Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. in the library. This PG-rated animated movie tells the story of a headstrong Scottish princess who must save her family by breaking a spell. No registration necessary. Those under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Let’s get building!

LEGO Club moves to a new day starting in January. Builders age 5 and up are invited to the library on the second Thursday of each month. Join us at 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, and show us what you can create with the library’s collection of bricks.

Baby TALK goes on hiatus
Baby TALK will not meet Dec. 26, Jan. 2 or Jan. 9. Mark your calendar for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 when the program resumes at the library.

12-12-12 = cookie time
There are dozens of reasons to visit Forsyth Public Library. From books and magazines to free Wi-Fi, the library has something for everyone. On Dec. 12, Jerry Swift discovered a new reason to visit the library as he won a dozen iced snowflake cookies as part of the library’s 12-12-12 promotion. This was the last triple date sequence till next millennium and the library showed users that 12 can be a very lucky number.

Check your investments from home through this library tool
Your Forsyth library card gains you access from home to Morningstar Investment Research Center. Whether you are new to investing or watching over long-term investments, Morningstar provides the tools you need. This online investment research database features data and analysis on thousands of stocks, mutual funds, and exchange traded funds. First, access Morningstar from the “Materials Search” tab on the library’s webpage, Scroll down through the list of databases to Morningstar, click go, then enter the barcode number from the back of your Forsyth library card to access the site. The “help and education” button on the top toolbar includes a user’s guide to help you. This same section provides an investment curriculum to help you sharpen your investing skills. Morningstar is also available for use within the library, with or without a Forsyth library card.
