DCS fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse

Come join Decatur Christian School at Texas Roadhouse for a fundraising night coming up Tuesday, October 24 from 4-10 p.m. On this night, DCS will receive 10 percent of your food purchase, so you can make a difference and enjoy great food and fun at the same time. Mark your calendar for October 24, and we hope to see you at Texas Roadhouse in Forsyth.

There will also be special activities for kids from 4-8 p.m.

Shop Amazon and help local students

Here’s a note from the Maroa-Forsyth School District Foundation about a very worthwhile cause.

If you are an Amazon customer, Maroa-Forsyth School District Foundation wants you to know that you can help the foundation by turning your purchases into donations from Amazon. Amazon will donate a percentage of each purchase to Maroa-Forsyth School District Foundation if you follow these simple steps:

  1. Log on to and use your regular login ID and password.
  2. Go to “Accounts and Lists and then to “Your Account.”
    1. In the “Shopping Programs and Rentals” box click on “Change your charity.”
  3. Then type in “Maroa-Forsyth School Foundation” in the search box and press select.

That will do it. Your purchases will turn into donations that help Maroa-Forsyth students and faculty. Share this with friends and family to help the foundation or so that they can put it to use for their own charities. Thank you.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with food for sale at 5:30 p.m. Trivia gets started at 6 p.m. (free); prizes and awards will be given out!

Water meter update

Be on the lookout for a notice from Burdick Plumbing & Heating Co. regarding how to go about scheduling an appointment to have your water meter replaced.

Trustees approved a plan to replace all Village water meters at residences and businesses throughout the Village, and Burdick Plumbing & Heating Co. is the approved contractor for the job.

Once the work gets underway, Burdick will have 120 days to complete the project.

If you have questions, please contact Larry Coloni, Public Works, at 877-1653.
