HPFD Breakfast
The Hickory Point Fire Department is hosting an All You Care To Eat Pancake and Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Hickory Point Fire Station, 450 S. Smith St. in Forsyth. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for kids 12 and under. There will be food, drinks, a 50/50 drawing, and while you’re there you can check out some of the equipment used to fight fires and keep us all safe.
Proceeds from the event go to support firefighter safety equipment, sponsorship of youth activities and support for fallen firefighters. For more information, call 877-1398 or visit www.hickorypointfire.com.

OPEN HOUSE at DCS March 3
Stop in at Decatur Christian School for an Open House from 6:30-8 p.m. on March 3. The event is for families of pre-school 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds and kindergarten-age students. Decatur Christian School is located at 137 Grant St. in Forsyth. Come by and see the classrooms and meet the teachers!

M-F School District screenings
Screenings will be held at Maroa-Forsyth Grade School, 641 E. Shafer, Feb. 25-27, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Screenings are for children who will be 3 and 4 by Sept. 1, 2015. Parents interested in possible entry into the pre-kindergarten program for their 3- and 4-year-olds must have their child screened. For an appointment, please contact Maroa-Forsyth Grade School at 877-2023, option 3. NOTE: There will be no further screenings until next school year, and these will be only for families new to the community.

Kindergarten screenings coming
Mark your calendars for upcoming kindergarten screenings coming this month. Screenings are scheduled for Feb. 18 and 19. Please call Maroa-Forsyth Grade School at (217) 877-2023 to arrange an appointment. Screenings are for children who will be 5 by Sept. 1, 2015.

Post-prom fundraiser 
Need A Night Out? Join us for Comedy Night on Saturday, March 7 at The Clinton Country Club. Doors open at 6 p.m. Comedy Night includes a buffet dinner, cash bar and silent auction. The evening will feature two standup comedians. Tickets are $35 per person. All proceeds go to support the 2015 Maroa-Forsyth post-prom.
