The Community Foundation of Macon County Accepting Online Scholarship Applications
Over $70,000 in funds available

The Community Foundation of Macon County is pleased to announce that its online scholarship application for the 2016-2017 academic year is available at www.endowdecatur.org. High school seniors who reside in Macon County and have been accepted at an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply.

Additionally, current college students also should apply for scholarships. Only complete electronic applications will be considered. The deadline is Thursday, March 31 at 5 p.m. (Tuesday, March 1 is the deadline for the Golden K Kiwanis Club and the Run2Beat Parkinson’s disease Scholarships).

The Community Foundation of Macon County works with generous donors who have established funds, and these funds benefit many students in Macon County who seek higher education. The foundation administers approximately 72 scholarship funds that provide more than $70,000 for academic year 2016-2017. Scholarship awards vary in size from $250 to $6,000. Applying is easy, only requiring a one-time online application submission at www.endowdecatur.org. Kindergarten screenings in February
Maroa-Forsyth School District kindergarten screenings will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24 and Thursday, Feb. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2016. Screenings will be held at Maroa-Forsyth Grade School, 641 E. Shafer, in Forsyth. For an appointment, please contact Maroa-Forsyth Grade School at 877-2023, option 3.

Developmental screenings in March
Maroa-Forsyth School District developmental screenings will be held Thursday, March 3 and Friday, March 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for children who will turn 3 and 4 by Sept. 1, 2016. Screenings will be held at Maroa-Forsyth Grade School, 641 E. Shafer, in Forsyth. Parents interested in their 3- and 4-year-olds possibly entering into the pre-kindergarten program must have their child screened. For an appointment, please contact Maroa-Forsyth Grade School at 877-2023, option 3. NOTE: There will be no further screenings until next school year, which will be for new families only.
