Plexiglass damaged at Forsyth Veterans Park

Thursday, September 26, 2013

According to a Macon County Sheriff’s Office report filed by an officer on Sept. 9, there was recent criminal damage to government property in the Village of Forsyth.

The officer’s report reads that William T. Jackson, caretaker for the Forsyth Veterans Park, reported that two of the three plexiglass coverings used to protect veteran memorial stones had been cracked.

There are no suspects, but Jackson said in the report that neighbors think the damage may have been caused by a soccer team seen practicing near the area about the time the damage occurred.

The replacement cost of the plexiglass, according to Jackson, will be about $620.
