Pride and Progress Award nominations sought

Thursday, November 29, 2012

Nominations are being accepted at Village Hall now through Dec. 31 for the Village’s ninth annual Pride and Progress Award program.

The awards will be presented at the Jan. 21 Board meeting said Mayor Hap Gilbert, who will select the honorees.

Gilbert said the underlying idea for the awards is “…to encourage people to be good neighbors and good citizens and to be pro-active in the community.” The two award categories include humanitarianism and economic development. The mayor said the awards serve to bring awareness of what residents and businesses are doing to enhance Village living.

The written nominations should include the nominee and nominator’s name and address, as well as how that person or business has made a significant contribution to the community. Examples may include, but are not limited to: service to others, high ethics, excellent professional image, good citizenship, or neighbor and community growth. Give specific accomplishments
