School referendum to be on Nov. 2 ballot

Thursday, September 30, 2010

On Nov. 2, Macon County voters will be asked to consider a school facility occupation tax, better known as a county sales tax. According to the Maroa-Forsyth board of education, up to $700,000 in new revenue would be generated to allow the district to address current and future building needs without having to rely totally on property tax revenue.
