Shopper loses contraband at mall, arrest made

Thursday, August 11, 2016

A woman shopping at a store at Hickory Point Mall misplaced some of her belongings. When she couldn’t find what she had lost, she gave her phone number to an employee and asked to be called if anything turned up.

According to Macon County Sheriff’s Deputy Drake Lambdin in his regular law enforcement report to trustees at their Aug. 1 board meeting, what the woman lost track of was a bag of cocaine while shopping at the American Eagle store at the mall.

Once law enforcement was alerted, the suspect was easy to find through her phone number, Lambdin said. The woman, who lives in Argenta, was arrested and charged with felony DUI.
