Team Tennis at Forsyth Park

Thursday, April 27, 2017

Tennis is for everyone, even if you’ve never held a racket. Forsyth Team Tennis is open to all kids 5 and up and runs from June 5 to July 25 in Forsyth Park. There will be no classes the week of July 3.

Opening kickoff night is Thursday, June 1 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Forsyth Park tennis courts. Feel free to bring a friend.

Early Bird online registration by the May 7 deadline is $99 for one day and $150 for both days. After May 7, online registration is $119 for one day and $170 for both days. Online registration deadline is June 11. Early Bird registrants will receive equipment on the first day. After June 11, contact Cory Sandgren at 423-7020.

All players will receive a team shirt, age-appropriate racquet and ball, a USTA membership and a goodie bag. There will be a fun water fight on the last day and an awards ceremony and party at Decatur Athletic Club.

This program utilizes the Midwest Youth Team Tennis model, which uses the concepts of fun, friends and play to help introduce kids to tennis. Using the USTA Youth Tennis format of modified equipment and courts tailored to age and size makes it easier to find success from the start.

Forsyth Team Tennis is a joint effort between the Forsyth Park program, Decatur Community Tennis Foundation and Decatur Athletic Club.
