Two Village job openings draw good response

Thursday, March 03, 2011

Response has been good to the Village’s job search to fill part-time positions for a utility billing clerk and a children’s librarian.

Village Administrator Heather Kimmons said she has received in excess of 20 applications for the newly created post of utility billing clerk. However, she is holding the applications pending a review of whether a recent change in utility bill due dates will significantly reduce the amount of staff time needed for this task. Applicants will be contacted if it is determined that a strong need for the position still exists, Kimmons said, noting that funds are in the current budget to hire someone prior to the start of the new fiscal year beginning May 1.

The retirement of the children’s librarian and subsequent advertising to fill that position drew 13 applicants, according to Head Librarian Jean Campbell. "I hope to have a children’s librarian in place by mid-March," Campbell said.
