Video gaming ban upheld

Thursday, January 28, 2016

A short discussion took place at the Jan. 18 board meeting regarding the village’s video gaming policy. Village Administrator David Strohl told trustees that video gaming was banned in the village back in 2012, but it was time to revisit the issue in order to respond to recent inquiries by several businesses and because it had not been discussed by the current board and mayor.

“We’re asking if you want to continue the ban and keep the status quo,” Strohl asked trustees.

None of the trustees was in support of lifting the ban, with several saying residents aren’t for video gaming and businesses haven’t asked for it.

No action was taken, and the policy was left unchanged with the ban still in effect.
