Village Hall seeks part-time utility billing clerk

Thursday, January 27, 2011

A staffing issue at Village Hall which Village Administrator Heather Kimmons described as “significant” should be resolved once a part-time utility billing clerk is found to work 15-20 hours a week.

“We’ve looked at different ways to outsource our payroll or water/utility billing and decided that the best solution may be to hire a part-time utility billing clerk to free up our administrative assistant to concentrate more on clerical duties,” said Kimmons.

Anyone interested in the part-time utility billing clerk position should contact Village Hall at 877-9445. Hours will be flexible with pay set at $10 an hour; no benefits available.

Staffing has also become a priority at Forsyth Public Library. The Finance Committee recently reviewed a draft budget for the Village’s 2011-12 fiscal year that included a justification from Head Librarian Jean Campbell with her request to make a part-time position full time. Kimmons noted that Campbell is the only full-time employee at the library while saying that she fully supports the additional 10 hours Campbell has requested for needed help.

In addition, the library is currently seeking a children’s librarian.
