Village path, several streets to get repairs

Thursday, September 29, 2011

Village trustees have given a green light to making minor street and path repairs totaling $48,700. Included in the project are:

  • filling cracks and replacing worn asphalt patches on Phillip Circle, Jacobs Way and Gunnar Lane;
  • filling cracks, replacing asphalt and sealing the section of multi-use walking/bike path stretching from Village Hall to Weaver Road;
  • filling cracks, power cleaning, replacing asphalt, and sealing the Village’s maintenance building parking lot; and
  • replacing a patch of worn asphalt in front of the post office.

B & W Paving was awarded the project by a unanimous vote of the trustees at the Sept. 19 Board meeting. B&W was the lowest of two price quotes requested by Public Works Director Larry Coloni, who had requested that the Board waive a formal bidding process and tap into the $50,000 allocated for street repairs in the budget for this fiscal year.
